Looking over the course I was wondering how many Jpegs it would take to (at the map level that I can see with out reading glasses) cover the whole course, and then how much would it cost at a copy place to print it all out...
For Trans Utah I will rely mainly on my gps.  I also have a laminated profile for my gas tank bag so that I can see the next major ascent/descent and resupply spots.  For a backup I took about a dozen pictures of the route in topofusion - just pointed the camera at the computer screen, snap pic, reposition map and repeat.  So now my backup maps are on my camera.  I also have an extra battery for my camera.
Best wishes to all you racers/riders. Wish I could could join but I gots plans with the family that weekend.

If it is that hot then I would ride during the evening, morning and night - preferably with a full moon.

I've done 5 sub 24s this year!  Stuff that pack full of beer, sit in the woods, stair at a fire or the moon...  good way to express myself sometimes.

Hey Marshall congratulations upon finishing CTR!  Congratulations to all the CTR riders!!!
If you start the TU route a week later than the organized 26th start time, then perhaps Blair and I can meet you at the finish and catch a ride back to my truck at the start?  Blair and I could shuttle your truck back to the finish or where ever... something to think about...
cheers, T

Blair and I will will be there on Sept. 25th, and ready to ride by the next day (maybe sooner...).
We will be in Team Touring Time Trial mode.  I am very ready to get out on the trail - have not done a multi day tour since the '08 AZT300.  Cheers, T

That looks so cool.  Looks like you developed something I was had been thinking about.
Thanks for making this happen.
I think I will sign up for the 350 in 2010.  Stuff already in the works for me this year...
89  Forums / Classifieds / Moots Tailgator titanium rack for sale SOLD on: June 29, 2009, 12:46:18 PM
sold

I have a mostly new Moots Tailgator titanium rack with two seatpost shims.  I used it once on a short tour.  I lashed my lite pad and sleeping bag on the top and bottom of the rack using two cam straps.  It worked fine for that.
I will sell for $70 and that will include shipping.  a fairly good deal because new this goes for 99 + shipping.

thanks for sharing the info. hello2 Ive done the AZT through there and want to get back for some of the other trails you did...
Canoing Blue Ridge IS fun.  Some of the best campspots are right there at rock crossing.  Close to the shoreline, in a little rock hueco, behind a rock is trout frypan.  Cheers, T

S.S. and rigid. Impressive indeed!  Did not know Chad did it SS.
Way to go everyone!

Looking forward to doing the azt300 again. But this year I am hitting up the Trans Utah during late-summer/fall.
Thanks for the cool race tracking.  I've been following it all weekend.

Very fast race times!  Y'all may have covered this somewhere but I imagine that Chris P. did is on a single speed?  Rigid?  Wonder what gear he used?
