Anyone happen to have a gpx file for this ride? I would love to do it during the area 51 nonsense.

I like this. Simple and very strong. I think you could make some holes on it also and move it around to the anything cage spots or water bottle spots too. hum... got me thinking.

I rode it this summer on steel fargo with stock steel fork. I saw several riders on steel salsa, surly steel frame fork bikes and everyone loved them. Most of the time you are hammering out long sections of dirt road. I would be more worried about the saddle. When I ride it again I will be using a thunder buster seat post. The fargo is a fast bike for the great divide. your gonna love it! oh and btw I rode the hole thing at 65 psi. I know i'm a nut job.

I met a nice guy on the great divide that was not happy with his. It just does not give you as much room. I think it's a fun idea but I love my seat bags from revelate. I have the regular seat bags. I put all my clothes in a compression drybag and then slide then into the seat. Then I can cram food and stuff around the drybag.

Hey,

I am looking to start or join a bikepacking group in the Sacramento area. I am thinking it could be gravel grinding, touring, and some route finding. Anyone from the Sacramento area? If I can get enouph people together we could start a meetup.com.

Its funny... I have some golf gear also. Its cheap... its way over engineered for golf. Its lightweight drys fast and is really tuff. Don't tell anyone though. I don't want all the golf gear at ross to start disappearing!!

I am looking at getting the Garmin Edge 510 for bikepacking.

My questions are.
Will it work for offroad?
Can I download GPX files and run them?

Is there a better gps I should look at.

Thank you for any help and advice.

That would happen to me all the time. I take one or two saltstick capsules every water bottle. You can't take to much and they are balanced. I was getting migraine for years and they work for that because they have magnesium. They are really great and easy to carry.
