Hello,

I’m looking for a partner to bikepack with from Flagstaff to Sedona. I’ve done this portion of the trail before and it took me 2.5 days. This is SLOW. So if you’re a shredder who’s all about speed, you’ll likely get bored. I’m fit, I just have a shit VO2 Max from a lifetime of asthma.

Man, woman, I don’t care. I’m fairly flexible on dates but I want to go in the next couple of weeks before it gets too hot.

Texting me is best. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Asking $900 + shipping.

I have a gently used Surly Ogre for sale. I believe it's '12 model. All standard parts. I added a Surly rear rack to it which can hold a whopping 80 pounds! Minor scratches due to use. All components in good working order. I will replace the chain as living in Santa Cruz, CA has rusted it a bit. A full tune up before it ships out. It is a size Medium frame.

I don't think there is much to say about it as those who may want one are already in the know. But, it's designed for backcountry bikepacking, multiple braise ons for attaching racks and gear. I have made a custom frame bag which I will include. It has 29" tires, I won't bike any smaller as they eat up obstacles and ride fast!

This is a comfortable, fun, sturdy bike that can perform many functions....commuter, cross country, bikepacking.

A great all around bike.

I will post more pics tomorrow with better lighting.   Can't seem to post this one as it's too big, I can't find a way to make it smaller. PM me your e-mail and I will send you some.

I'm so on this. I just ordered the Golite poncho tarp, which I plan to use on the CT this summer. I've got some bug netting and will make a removable insert complete with zipper. I mostly plan on pitching the poncho a-line style. I'll post a pic when I get it done. Looks great!

My idea is the second week of July for a start. I'm driving from Santa Cruz to Santa Fe and then my Pops is going to drive me and my bike to Denver (all so he can partake of Colorado's newest legalized recreation.....) and then pick me up a couple weeks later in Durango.

I'd love to do more miles but I want to be conservative in my estimate as I once flew out to Boulder from Cali for some alpine ice climbing and it kicked my a$$ with the altitude. I also didn't take time to acclimate, which I'm hoping a slower start will help with this time.

Hello,

I'm planning on bikepacking the Colorado Trail from Denver to Durango. This will be my first extended bikepacking trip (previously I've done the Tahoe rim trail in increments). I'd love to have someone to do some or all of the trip with. I'm planning on 35-45 miles per day with a few longer days thrown in on the wilderness detours (on roads). So I'm thinking around 14 days total. Maybe a bit more or less.

I'm a woman and a strong, competent outdoors person. That being said.....experience has taught me to mention the following disclaimer.........I don't want to see your penis. Really. I found a climbing partner off Craigslist once and he insisted on walking around naked in the hotel room when we were in Canada. It made be a bit uncomfortable.

Also, I'm from Santa Cruz, CA. I've been training, but I'm expecting altitude to effect me. Maybe you can be from sea level too, or at least be comfortable with a slow pace until I acclimate.

I'm easy going. And if you don't mind being made fun of, you can even be Republican!

Let me know.

Ends up I'm keeping the Pika. Sorry. It actually does work with my CT setup after all.

Thanks for the interest.

www.bearcreeksurvey.com or .net, possibly .org. Has all the waypoints for free. They are in a zip file which made them difficult for me to upload into my iPhone Gaia GPS app (super cool app by the way....better maps and better detail than a separate gps unit, it was $20 and the maps are free, unlike garmin etc). I did a google search for Colorado trail gpx waypoints which sent me to a forum post where a gentleman had converted the zip file into gpx and I downloaded it from there.

Hope you get this in time to help.

Hi!

I've got a black and gray size medium Revelate Tangle frame bag for sale. It's new, usually $70, I'll sell it for $45. I've also got a black and gray Pika seat bag, usually $125, I'll sell it for $80. Buyer pays shipping. This is the slightly smaller seat bag for bikes with less seat/rear tire clearance. Still plenty of room for lots of stuff. I've used both bags on one trip. They are great bags but I'm going with some custom set ups for more space.

Can e-mail you pics. I can't post them here, they're too big.

Contact me here and we'll work out payment and shipping.

Hi Philderness,

I'll be doing the CT around the same time as you. You can download the GPS waypoints off the coloradotrail.org website. They're a little tricky to find. Go to the store where you purchase the trail guides and when you click on the trail maps or official guide book (can't remember which one) it gives a link below the book or map description for the way points. Hope that helps.

How many miles are you expecting to do in a day? I'd be interested in hearing about your set up as well. I'll be riding my 29" Surly Ogre with a suspension fork. I've already got a rear rack on it so I was going to go without the giant seat bag and go with a rear rack trunk instead. What will your cooking set up be?

I just realized this was last posted a couple weeks ago. Hope to hear from you though.
