Forums / Classifieds / Vassago VerFetten fatbike medium $2250
|

I recently built up this bike with a new frame, but swapped out parts from my old fat bike. The frame has 1 ride on it, the components have been used for about 1 year, aside from the bluto fork and front wheel. They were added new about 3 months ago. I really love this bike, but I just moved across country from Arizona and now realize it was a mistake. So I'm selling everything to move back to AZ. The frame is a medium tru temper OX platinum steel frame vassago verfetten in curlys gold color (transparent gold) with 44mm head tube and cane creek 40 headset installed. 100mm bottom bracket and 170mm spaced rear drop outs. It has post mount rear brake and geared qr dropouts, but can be ran single speed with the flange style sliding drop outs. Components are 80mm Rock shox bluto fork Brand new Thomson 720mm carbon flat bars Easton 70mm stem 27.2 salsa carbon seatpost and ritchey alloy seatpost will be included Shimano slx hydro brakes 180/160 rotors Shimano xt 2x10 drivetrain (shifters snd derailleurs, cassette) SRAM x9 crankset and gxp 100mm bottom bracket Wheels are surly rolling Daryl with hope fatsno hubs And newish on one floater 120 tpi 26x4 tires set up tubeless with gorilla tape and stans sealant Kmc 10 speed chain. There are a few scratches on the top of the drive side chainstay from chain slap. I took it on the 1 test ride before I shortened the chain to the correct length, but that has been fixed now. Otherwise the frame is in perfect condition. It's a beauty of a bike and with the long top tube, shorter chain stays it's an absolute blast to ride, this bike rips. It's not easy to let this one go, but I've got to do it. I'll include the crankbrothers mallet pedals and Chromag trailmaster leather saddle with Ti rails with the purchase. The carbon seatpost has a few scratches on it, so I'll also send an aluminum ritchey seatpost so if you want to swap it out you can Please email with any questions Buyer pays shipping

I put a bluto on my fatbike and had a new wheel built for the different spacing. This is the one I used with the salsa enabler fork. It's a black hope Evo fatsno, 135 spaced and for 9mm qr. it's taped for tubeless using gorilla tape, but you'll have to add a valve stem to use as tubeless, or will work with a tube also. The wheel is in great shape it is true and hub is smooth as well. $125 plus shipping

Forums / Classifieds / Stans flow 29er with chris king hubs

I have a used set of wheels for a 29er. As title says, stans flow hoops on mango colored chris King hubs, 6 bolt disc brakes I removed the stickers from the rims so the are just plain black, they are a few years old, but we're serviced every 6 months or so. The cassette body has nicks on it from the cassette, it works fine, but is easily replaced if you choose to . Front is for a 15mm thru axle, rear is a 135x9 qr, with shimano/sram style cassette body, 8-9-10 speed. Black spokes and nipples.!Wheels are nice and stiff, and run true. They gave me a few years of great trouble free use, the flows are bombproof and chris King hubs are smooth as silk with the cool sounding buzz! I had them on a salsa el Maraichi I used for bikepacking, but have switched to a fatbike for my bikepacking rig, so I thought I'd pass these along to someone who will use them more. I'll include the specialized ground control tire with about 75% tread left and a brand new continental trail king tire both setup tubeless with stans valve stems 450$ plus shipping or local pickup in the western Kentucky region, I'll meet somewhere in the middle if you are semi close 100 miles or so

I have a revelate designs frame bag designed for a salsa el Maraichi size medium. I'm sure it'll fit other like size frames, but this was made especially for that bike. It's been used for about 1 year, there aren't any tears or rips and the zippers work flawlessly. It's a top notch frame bag, I just sold the bike and don't need it anymore. 100$ plus shipping. I have paypal or if you are in the western Kentucky/southern Illinois 3 rivers region I'll meet you for a local pickup

Hey there dials6, I just moved to western ky from Arizona. I loved bikepacking there. I was starting to lose hope on good mountain biking here in Kentucky. I don't have as much free time here, but I have every weekend off. If you ever want to try to put together a ride let me know.

Hi there, I'm not sure if you wanted a riding partner for this, but I've also been thinking about taking the fat bike there to check this out. It would make shuttle options easier with 2 people. I was also considering doing this as a bikepack and doing some exploration, so a test run would be great. I'm in the phx area (tempe) and planned on going to the blm office to see if I can get some good info and maps.

Great write up! I live in az and love that area! I'm thinking of getting a 29+ bike to do my bikepacking trips on instead of my trusty el mariachi and o was wondering if you were able to fit the + tires in your rock shox fork on wide rims, what rims you used. Some of the longer, rocky rides can get a little painful on a rigid fork out here. Thanks, Lee

I've been using the specialized rime for the last year or so. Very nice shoes with vibram soles which help a lot with the hiking with the bike. They are black but are vented pretty well and I haven't really gotten that hot in them, even in the Arizona summer. Good luck with the search

I have a salsa vaya that I bought brand new a few months ago, then I broke my leg pretty bad and it's going to keep me from bike riding for quite a while so I thought I'd try to sell it to somebody who can get out and enjoy it. It's all stock salsa vaya 3 build except for the brooks b-17 saddle I added. Shimano sora group set, avid mech road disc brakes, salsa hubs on sun ringle inferno 23 hoops. Schwable silento tires plus a new set of surly knard 700c x 41 knobby tired. I left the steer tube uncut so I could play around with the fit. It has a few scuffs, one on the rear shifter and one on the rear dearailluer, both happened while I was taking pictures of it leaned against my house and trying to hobble around on 1 leg, they are both minor and just cosmetic. I doubt I put 100 miles on this bike before I took myself out of the game. I'm in the Phoenix Arizona area so local pickup is available or if you are close in sure we could work out a meeting spot, or shipping in the US available $1100 plus shipping

I like the sliding dropouts for flexibility too. I have a salsa with the alternator drop outs and I love it! They are very easy to make adjustments with, either wheel base or chain tension, I'm also a fan of a 44mm head tube to give you fork options. It may not come into play on your trip, but maybe down the road you want to put a rigid fork or a different suspension fork, steer tube diameter won't be a factor for you. Good luck with the build!
