1  Forums / Question and Answer / Re: Rear storage options- small frame - help! on: March 23, 2016, 09:06:47 AM
I would love to know this as well -- as I have about 6.5-7" of clearance - and have struggled to find a seat bag that looks like it will fit!

Thanks!

I ended up getting the Salsa Alternator Rack (135) with bent struts. It was super easy to install and so far, has been extremely sturdy! I have checked if after every ride- it hasn't moved. I am able to put a dry bag on top of it, and secure the bag with a cargo net. I'll try to take a pic and post it in the next several days. Hope this helps!!

Hello!

I just purchased a 2016 Salsa El Mariachi (small) (woo hooo!!  headbang) for bikepacking. I am so excited to hit the road with it... so many fun adventures ahead!

With that, I am working on getting my bags and systems set up. Unfortunately, I am the runt in the family... I am 5'5" with short(er) legs... so I don't have much clearance between my seat and my rear tire. I would LOVE to use a rear seat bag, but I can't seem to find one that is small enough, yet big enough. I tried my husband's Revelate Designs Pika on for size... it rubs the rear tire.. dang it!

Does anyone have experience in this area/advice for a storage option? Also, I have been looking at the Salsa Alternator Rack as a possible solution--- anyone have any experience with this?

Thank you in advance!!
