I have thought about switching to a rigid fork which should make things easier.
I'm not an expert on the topic (but I AM on the internet), but I predict buying a new fork and a rack for the fork would be more expensive than an Old Man Mountain rack. Ohh... There is a Blackburn rack that is only 45 dollars. 70 dollars gets you a gigantic basket too (I must be bored...). https://www.blackburndesign.com/racks/front-racks.html
Those are sweet! I like that I can try them on the back or front. And the price is spot on for what I want to spend on this old bike. (Getting a new bike for the trails come spring, but this is great around town.) Switching to a rigid fork interests me mostly because I just am not happy with the current forks performance and keep it super stiff most of the time. I was thinking about it before i even started considering panniers. As for panniers on the weehoo itself, the next size up comes with some, but I'll probably want to use them for her stuff.
