I couldn't find anything regarding BB height but crank arm length is 175 mm. I purchased a medium frame. As far as I can tell it looks like 27.5 would work.

Thanks for the tips. I've ridden road bikes all my life. I have a Airborne titanium and a Specialized. Roubaix, both with rim brakes and upgraded rims. Both of these bikes I use for fair weather riding. Frame geometry limits any kind of decent fender setups. So I'd set up the Fargo as my go to bike for town during the dreary season here in the NW. I have a older Rock Comp hard tail but have always preferred easy single track or forest roads when ridding that bike and those would be the routes I'd look for when bike packing. I know the Fargo is a whole different animal but at 28 lbs. it's heaver than I'm used to. So maybe a set of 27.5 rims/tires for "road riding" is something to look into but I have to ask myself if it's worth the $$ for two sets of wheels vs. just swapping out and cleaning what I have.

I'm new to bike packing and just purchased a Salsa Fargo GX 29'er. It is set up with tubeless ready rims and 2.4 tires. I would like to have this set or perhaps a better tire depending on what may have a higher recommendation, set up tubeless. I'd also like to set up the bike for use around town and rides in the foothills near my home. I was told I could set up the rims with a tire down to 40mm but wonder if it's better to use the factory setup tubeless with sealant and get another set of rims for use around town, set up with tubes and a puncture resistant tires, say, around 1.5 x 29? I've been told once a tubeless tire has been sealed it's hard to clean everything up to swap out for another tire setup. So is this a practical road to go down or what works for those of you with the same situation. Thanks
