Hey, not bad! Is there any option to weld bolts somehow? It doesn't look safe anyways. So DIY it or not, MIG welders(review) should help as far as I understood right

Agree with that, but finally, it doesn't matter which lock is used. Scoundrels either want to steal it or they don't. I got an occasion with Ottolock. The thieves just cut it off from my truck rack(hate it, unsafe at all). That's all...

Hi, VickoRano
Sad, that I've found this thread only now. You got a decent bike, Schwinn is a perfect brand, got a gravel hybrid bike from them(review).
There are a lot of info here and on Youtube
How are you? What about your upgrades and experience?
All the best!

I’m happy enough with instant black, because a hot drink on the hill tastes good if it’s posh or poor. Current instant of choice is something from Cafe direct. Advantage of instant is you don’t have grounds to dispose of or wash out of your mug/coffee device. Very minor, but adds to the sense of leave no trace.

I also have tried all sorts of "arrangements" of gear to sleep on, including boots/shoes. We - wife and me - even tried to use a regular pillow and finally evolved just right to buy something portable. After all we were amateurs, what to say...
Take a look at the Exped air pillow (http://www.exped.com/usa/en/air-pillow-m) - I really like mine. They pack up small, you can easily control the firmness and they even come in a few different sizes should you want something close in size to a real pillow. I find that the material doesn't feel that comfortable so use a buff as a pillowcase of sorts and it works a treat.

Problem with a pillow as I see it is bulk. I don't like the inflatable ones so this is my option too. I use a fleece jacket in summer instead of thermal lining as it doubles up for casual wear off the bike. I wrap the soft clothes inside it inside a pillow case and it makes for an excellent pillow, adjustable to suit your needs. Takes trial and error at first but once you get the hang of it you are made but without having to carry a bulky pillow.

I actually use a Kryptonite U-lock and a smaller Palmy U-lock - one front and one back, then park next to a bike with just a cable lock if I see one. If I'm in a high-theft area, I'll add a cable lock. My city bike was $1000 and almost never is the most expensive bike on the rack in this area, and it helps that it's a brand not well-known. My goal is to make my locking annoying for the run-of-the-mill thieves, and my bike itself not as attractive to the pros.

I usually do not leave my bikes unattended for longer periods. Most of our bikes are in my cellar and locked with everything I got..

I carry a mini adjustable wrench, but have recently bought a tool from Halfords which does various jobs (pedals, nuts, and a couple of allen keys). So far so good!
