Thanks, Flinch! Curious, What tires did you run?

Tubes: Butyl v latex v TPU

What recommendations do you have for spare tube(s)?

Butyl is the old trusty but heavy and bulky; Latex light, small but delicate. Haven't run TPU.

Thanks

I don't see a toggle or function for miles/KM, try emailing info@trackleaders.com
5  Forums / Question and Answer / Cutthroat 2020 Crank options on: May 31, 2020, 10:06:36 PM
I'm looking to upgrade my 2x crankset on my 2020 Cutthroat but I"m confused about what options would fit based on the constraints. Has anyone been down this path yet?
Thanks

Shoulderfu - see Josh's write up here: https://bikepacking.com/plog/tour-divide-training/

Also, you might consider mimicking an ultra during training - riding back to back to back with a fully loaded bike.

The difference between Hall and Stappler appears to be time management.  They are riding at the same pace but Hall takes a little less time at stops and sleeps a little less than Stappler...which has led to a little over 4 hours more ride time...which at their pace is about 50 miles.  Assuming no mechanicals, he who sleeps less will lead longest.

The rider who manages their rest or sleep will be better served not necessarily sleeping the least. It's a tough call in the heat of the battle though.

My legs ache watching the blue dots today. They are flying thru CO.

Only 9 out of 105 have scratched. Very impressive. Could be record year for finishers!

Interesting to see how OW fairs with the Rohloff setup. Seems like he's had the right gear range to tackle Montana (knock on wood).

I got this response on mentioning Tour Divide:  "you'll be gone a whole month, not to mention all of the training"

My smart*ss response: And that's a bad thing?

didn't go over too well.

P-B-P might be more suited to a family event (everyone goes to Paris, while parent rides).

I'd probably not rule Ethan out.

2 CTR wins and this little gem:

1 6:45:45 Dave Wiens
2 6:47:41 Lance Armstrong
3 7:20:52 Manuel Prado
4 7:27:54 Ethan Passant

These TD riders just aren't all couch potatoes with a wild hair. Thanks for posting the bio's here.

Operational Question: how do the riders get route updates (WY 70 issue) the while on the road? When they phone in? or do they get a Spot message or GPS message?

Jrmoore49 I stand corrected. Nothing in the rules defining equipment to be used.
