It's a close race for the North Bounders. 71 yr old Nat Cobb (my age so I'm partial) with a narrow gap over the young whipper snapper 64 yr ole Ken Knight.  ;-)

It's really hard not to be impressed by these blokes! I guess Nat will raise the bar set by Hal. Will he be the oldest to complete within the "unofficial" time limit?

Not really a new rule, no.  It's been in the confirmation of understanding for years (about what touring pace is) and some years dots were turned white manually.  This year it's automatic,  so yes, riders can go back to blue/pink if they get ahead of the brooms.  A few riders did just that this evening.  Unfortunately the brooms don't sleep so they will likely get passed back tonight...

It would seem that the e-bike (with the chain-suck), pictured here a few days ago, belongs to Spencer Harding. As you know, he and Rugile are documenting this year's event and following Lael.
He followed Kai and Evan out on their aborted attempt to Steamboat, with the hope of taking some good pics, only to have to abort himself. Not sure sure the push back to the Brush Mountain was quite what he had in mind.
