Looks like Mr Lee is back on the move after a 2 hr stop in Rawlins. From Google maps it looked like he was at a supermarket or similar.

I too have been loving Kent P's reports. Having now heard about his car-free approach to things it kind of explains a lot. Going by bike is nothing new for him and it seems to show.

Also, having seen the pics of Matt Lee, I'm amazed at how little he's packing.

Even the UCI aren't slaves to the rules (remember Lance shortcutting the course through the corn field - that was a breach of the rules, but they quite rightly let it slide).

Actually the UCI/TDF rules state that a racer cannot cut the course AND gain advantage. Lance, by some stroke of luck, managed to rejoin the race/the field with the same riders that he was with before his detour (arguably slightly further back) and therefore (and fortunately for all involved) was not in disregard of the rules.

Someone referred to the "basin" that ML is crossing. Can some of the past riders describe the terrain for some of the current riders. I was looking thru the photos on the TD site and was wondering ML is in the flat, rollers in WY while others are still slogging thru more rugged terrain.

Looking for professional quality photos of Matthew Lee from this year's race. Preferably of him on the bike. If you have any or know of anyone who has any please PM me.
Thanks.

I'm new to the forum but addicted to the Tour Divide leaderboard. Looks like Matt Lee is holed up in a rental cabin near at the base of Sawtell Peak Rd. Hasn't moved for an hour and Google maps shows his location to be near Island Park Rental Cabins.
I was also thinking that altho' the mud will jam up the rear of the bike, Matt is running a single-bladed Lefty fork which will prevent/reduce mud gathering at the front as he has no fork bridge.
