Hey I'm just new here, I live in Argentina and can for sure give some tips for your bikepacking trip. Ruta 40 is an amazing option, with beautiful scenes from the wine area of Mendoza to the Lake District close to Bariloche. In Patagonia, you must visit El Chalt?n to do trekking and El Calafate to see Perito Moreno Glacier. Getting a local guide is very good idea?they can give special advice and help with language problems. If you go northwest, see Cafayate and Salta for special views and tasty wine. From September to December is best time for your visit because weather nice, but in Patagonia be ready for changing conditions.  Have a great trip in Argentina!

Welcome to forum, thank you for helpful advice. I have heard wonderful stories about wine regions and Lake District too. El Chalt?n and El Calafate are surely on my travel list too. Yeah, I think hiring a local guide is a good idea. Speaking of which, do you know about https://gowithguide.com/argentina ? Or do you have any guide recommendations? Also, do you have some suggestions for must-eat foods or secret places in Cafayate and Salta?  Thanks again!  icon_salut

Hello fellow bikepacking fans! I am ready for an exciting trip in Argentina and searching if someone wants to come along. I want to explore Argentina's different landscapes, from tall Andes mountains to wide Pampas plains, by bikepacking. I feel okay with mid-level bikepacking and finding my way in far-off places. But I'm also thinking about getting a local guide to make the trip better and help us enjoy our adventure more. I can travel between September to December, looking for about 2 weeks of cycling through beautiful places like the famous Ruta 40 or exploring the amazing Patagonian nature. If you love outdoor adventures, enjoy biking, and want to see Argentina?s beauty alone but also learn from locals, let's get in touch!

I've actually tried making a similar rolltop framebag before, inspired by designs like the ones you shared. It's a neat project if you're into custom gear. The zipperless approach really simplifies things and gives it a clean look. Have you started gathering materials for yours?

Yeah, it would be awesome to add the Tandem Record to Trackleaders. As far as I know, Jay and Tracey Petervary still hold that record from 2009 with 18 days and 13 hours. Adding it would give everyone another cool benchmark to aim for.

Since you're stopping in Fernie, you'll find some great trails there. Whitefish, Montana, is another spot with awesome single track, and the Continental Divide Trail near Butte offers some fun sections. In Colorado, check out the Colorado Trail segments and the La Garita Wilderness bypass for more technical riding.
