You ever connected this with the Lime Creek trail? Just started looking for routes in the area and saw that on a hiking blog.

I have a great 60-mil loop in the Hodges area that might be able to use to piece together for that third loop. Some is junk since it was my first time riding it.

Start List Update: Looks like about 15-20 starters thus far for start.

Dave Wilson and I were leap frogging. He is probably behind the two Aarons, I'd put him in the bolders.

I have Aaron about 35 minutes BEHIND Scott at the Gila checkpoint right now. I know Scott rested a few times on the climb out of the river. It is going to come down to the wire. If Aaron breaks the record, it is going to be under an hour.

It also looks like Aaron rested for about 1.5-2 hours last night.

I am out. Opted for a Parker to Tucson run this year. Good luck all the riders.

Connecting reserves to get out of town and head over to Noble/Cuyamaca would be my advice. The Stagecoach 400 does a lot of bike path. I would think you would avoid that and head to Mission Hills or do something to get you to Mount Woodson, then take some back roads to get that far east.

Where do you live?

From where I normally stay during vacation: La Costa-Elfin-Hodges-Sea to Summit Trail to Ramona area-up Woodson (~40 miles) would be a great overnighter. I would camp on the top of Woodson and return early the next day.

Do you have a GPX file of the route I could see? If so, send her over to chadfbrown at yahoo dot com.

Check the Stagecoach 400 for a better route...I have tried to ride the route with little success.

How did it go?

Just looking back at this and realized I never posted my interest and congrats for getting it rolling!  I have ridden a few trails there and the thought of 250 miles, *and* a loop is tempting indeed.  This desert dweller will be a little concerned about bears and parsnip, but I'd get along.

Is there anyway to make it a more 'pure' loop?  I know I have a higher standard for GPX aesthetics than most people, but a big loop or a single cherry-stemmed loop makes it seem like you are going somewhere as opposed to wandering around.  My 2c, anyway.

Oh the loop dream....I love Scott, always going for the loop!

I love the idea of the race, hope to make it up there one of these years.
