Yes, you're right. This is a real shame. You can bypass this lack by clicking on a riders name in the map and than click on "Google map location" Is not the same but better than nothing.

How many times in a typical long distance cycling day do you mix up a new drink?
That is a question I am also interested in. During the TD 2013 my legs were always empty from day six until I reached Antelope Wells on day 25. And it didn't matter what kind of food and how many I ate.

Yes, a mid July start would be perfect for me. Full moon is on the 19th of July. So a start date around the 15th would be very welcome. The August version around the 14th would definitely kick me out.

Hello, Maybe a little bit too early but any idea when the start date for the 2016 CTR will be fixed? I am asking because due to different reasons my wife has to tell her boss the rough date for the summer vacation next year. As it happened kids will be out of school at the same time. So we are roughly plan to spend our summer vacation in Colorado and I would like to participate at the CTR If I compare the start dates of the past years I guess it will be around the 7th of August?? And the direction would be from Denver to Durango right? Thanks! Michael

Dogs? Someone could open a roadside stand in Cuba selling these for running the dog gauntlet down the road. They also make a great emergency tent pole, splint, or use it to prop your head up (between forehead and bar bag) once you get to New Mexico. Act now and get a free stick for scraping mud out of your chainstays!
To lift the secret of the stick - It is a pole for his self made tarp.

Congratulation to Tom! 4 days and 11 hours with a singlepeed bike. Unbelievable! Actually, has there been any breaks between the showers this year? Michael

I figure it's about 25 miles out of Helena?
Hi Tom, You're right. I've checked my 2013 gpx track and remember this section very well (1st place out of the ten most fucking sections at the TD). It's 25mi out of Helena. Michael

I can’t recommend between a Mavic Scree or Shimano MTB 71 as I have not used either one. I am sure both are fine choices if they fit etc.
Hi! The Mavic Scree are very fine shoes. Very good walking performance. I used it at the TD and at the Highland Trail Race. But there is on big issue with it. The cleats at the heel (both shoes) are ripping off in case of longer walks. The routher the terrain you're walking the earlier you'll lose the cleats. At the beginning of the HTR I had a new pair (from a replacement) and it didn't survive the second day. So better go for another shoe! Michael

Hi,
I had it at the top of my bucket list for next year but the political situation in the area (not only in Israel) is a little bit too fragile at the moment so I decided to postpone my participation to 2016 or later. Sorry!
Kind regards
Michael
