1  Forums / Question and Answer / Any one find some tentpoles? on: December 03, 2009, 12:59:46 PM
I lost my tentpoles on the west side of Georgia pass and was hoping that someone found them.  They were in a white bag and the bag contained two segmented black fiberglass poles.  I had ran in to a lady coming down from Tennessee pass and she told me she had seen them and placed them on a stump.

Due to knee issues and my overall slowness, I have decided that I will be starting Sunday morning with everyone but will not be racing.  I will be taking my time and be making an extended trip out of it.  Good luck to all of you.  Hopefully, I will be recovered from impending knee surgery well enough to participate in the 2010.  Well, see you there (but only for a few minutes when you all blow past me). wave

P.S.
Cat, Good meeting you up on the trail this last weekend.  Good luck to you.

Jeff

Cat,
I was on my way back to the Waterton trailhead on top of segment one where the old dirtbike trail crosses (only a few miles from lenny's rest).

I was up riding this weekend to try and get my setup dialed in.  Ran into a fellow participant up there (Tom from Ramstrong).  Spent the night and had a close encounter with a black bear in the morning while I was trying to get my rear tire's flat fixed.  Came up behind me and was 15-20 feet behind me when he finally stepped on a log and alerted me to his presance.  Took some effort to scare him off.  The whole thing was kind of crazy.

Hello everyone, I am also new to the CTR and I am excited to be a part of it this year.  I am hoping my research and planning will pay off.  I also hope my knees will hold out!  I am kind of wishing I would have bought a lighter bike though (bought it before I decided to do the CTR).  I look forward to seeing you all there.  I just hope that the call in line will remian open for the extra time it will take me to finish!  BangHead  sad3
Oh, question. I will stay tuned here, but Is there a meeting time/place before the start of the race to get any last minute info?
See you all then.

Jeff

I'll be there for my first CTR this year.  It sounds awesome, especially adding Coney and Cataract.  Just counting the days.

Hello everyone,
New here to the CTR.  Honestly didn't even know it existed until I stumbled upon some YouTube videos of the 2007 CTR posted by Alison (yeah, I am sort of out of the loop these days).  Ever since I watched those, I have been hooked!  I look forward to the 2009 CTR.  I would like to be there with you all (if you have room for another) and see how far I can get.

Is there any advice you could give as far as gear, food, clothing?
Has there been a final determination on start time/date or route change yet?  I know that there were some questions about the start time and the course route this year.
