The 5th annual San Jacinto Enduro (or 6th if you count last year's ride, cancelled to fire) is going off October 19th.
This year's ride will be our first ever in-town start, and follows traditional self-supported rules.
-- We've been calling it "Enduro" since 2009 because all the "endurance" names in the area were already taken. Regardless of what that name might lead you to believe, this ride is a big day on the bike.
Loop 1 is right around 50 miles with about 6,000ft of gain. Very Western. (rough, a good bit of cow trails, etc)
Loop 2 (optional) is around 20 miles of techy, slow progressing singletrack.
In between those loops we will be able to pitstop at our own start/finish area.
No prize, no entry fee. BUT- we have a $25 suggested donation to the Idyllwild Outdoor Eduction Booster Club. Info on the registration site. They are a super legit, longstanding, proactive fixture of the community, bringing middle school kids on field trips for a couple decades now. We feel the ride is worth paying for, and this helps pay back the community as we see Idyllwild blossom into a "mountain bike town."
Check it out. Registration opens Monday.
We will only accept a total of 69 riders. FWIW the 2012 event filled in under 24 hours.
We will not allow even one more rider than that, sorry.
