Everyone Home Grown is running shuttles for the AZT again this year. They don't have an account so I told them I could share it for them. If anyone has any questions you can give them a call or pm me and I can pass them along or try to clarify.

Hey Racers!

If anyone needs a shuttle to the start, from either Picket Post or Tucson, Home Grown MTB will be offering shuttles again this year! There’s a link to their website for info and registration:

Last summer while riding my bike and having a few beers at SSUSA in MI I broke my knee. It was bad and I torn and damaged pretty much every thing in the knee. I even broke a bone. This sucked it sucked a lot. My whole life revolves around bikes. I help run a non-profit bike advoc group, I ride my bike to work, and spend my weekends on a bike. Lets just say it was a very long mentally painful 7 months off the bike. Well I am back sort of. Not 100% yet but good enough for now to start doing what I love. So to celebrate this I bough myself a fat-bike and went on my first bikepacking trip in a very very long time. Plus to make it even sweeter it was a good friends maiden bikepacking voyage. I kept it fairly short 40 miles in two days and very easy. Lots of jeep roads, RR track roads, and the easy parts of the Arizona Trail. It went off without a hitch and really helped capped off a bad stretch in my riding life. We had perfect weather for two days, saw a fox which is very rare around here, and rode mile upon miles of wild flower lined singletrack. Oh and we had some good whiskey. Its amazing to be back.

Day 1

New bike same old crack gps

Blue skies for days

Jet9 from a few months back on my first BPing trip. Next one is next weekend will update with new gps and new bars ends. The plastic was getting a little uncomfortable. Completely love the cane creek bar ends though. Hated the the mount that gps had. Kinda glad it fell of the mount when I forgot it and loaded the bike on the car.

hey bigworm, Is that my drunk cousin drinking drinks in that photo?

Yes it sure is. He's all roadie except his drinking habit. That means there is still hope in there somewhere.

Also this is a good source of knowledge for new guys looking for cameras. http://kenrockwell.com/

And remember a lot of the cameras are gonna be almost the same quality as each other lens wise and therefore picture wise. You you may really want to look at are the extra features that set them apart. Most all of your pics can be touched up in lightroom or some other photo editing software in like 2 minutes. Make a list of the things you think you would like in the camera and we can maybe even help you more. Canon cameras even have a pretty cool set of in camrea editing features that are fun to play with. One that I use a lot makes only one color stand out in the pic.

I am a Canon P&S guy myself. Right now I am using the S100. F stop on it is great and what I really like is the lens size. Since I dont really use my bike camera for things other then outside scenery I go for a nice wide angle lens and dont care about the zoom features. The S100 has a 24mm lens. Look for the smaller number the better for wide angles.

Great video. Your Cousin Greg sent it to me. I have been trying to talk him into going BP'ing with me. All he wants to do is ride his road bike and drink espresso.
