Wow looks great. I hiked a few of the sections and the terrain is lovely. Def gonna look if attending is possible. Altough I will be on a vacation pace and no race pace. ..

Yeah those tarptents look really nice. Only downside is that hideous color... I like my tents to be a bit green and inconspicious thats the only reason I've not bought one.

I would not mind a bit extra weight for some green or dark material.

60 euro's with a bit of haggling.

It has netting and is quite roomy. Altough i am not sure if the netting is midge approved. I know those little feckers and you need really good netting. 

Weighs about 1,4 KG. It's a tad heavier than mij spitfire solo sul tent. But it packs smaller and is less conspicious.

Where are you planning to go? I still am planning for a Aberdeen / Fort William / up north (Ullapool) route.

When off the bike and sitting in front of the tent I like to get into something a tad more comfortable that cycling shorts. I have always carried some packlite pants or soccer shorts. But around the house I usually wear a sarong in summer days. That also seems to be nice to wear around the tent. No zippers etc to break and because there are no seams etc if will pack down really small.

But sarons are usually made of some wierd thick material. I was wondering where I could get some packlite nylon of other material that is used to make those trekking pants. Lightweight, easy dry etc.

Who knows an online store for those materials?

I've been to Finland when I was a kid. This definitely makes me want to return and take bike with me.

I have a Titec H bar. And I am using X9 shifters on it.



I used the matchmaker XX system to get the shifters on the main bar portion. Works like a charm altough you have to learn how to use it.

As a european I have never met Dave or any of the other riders. But the comments and views that were shared here and on the TD site were inspiring to me to pick up this subset of MTB-ing.

I am using a Go Lite Quilt. Ideal. Goes down to about -5 to -10 Celcius and packs to a bit more than the size of a 0,5litre coke bottle.

Use it in conjunction with a good liner (any tips? I am lokking for a very light non cotton one) and very easy to regulate the temperature.

Pff cant really give tips. It's nice to know that Norway and Sweden have a right to roam and camp. Also you sometimes need a special "holiday card" to stay on certain campings. I did not have one and did not have any problem.

Ow and the south of sweden is really boring. You have to stay in the middle and north. The south is flatish farmland for miles.
