Hey, I may have missed it....but is this mostly awesome single track or wash board mining trails?  Just curious for timing and packing considerations.  Thanks, looks pretty amazing and trying to get approval for more riding allowance from the head of the house.

The date is on my calendar too!  Sounds like a great start.  Thanks Sean.

That's great Forest!  Ya, in 2011 when I tried the Divide, I started in the south.  I liked it logistically as far as transportation, lodging, etc.  The fires and smoke were horrible but it was nice to have a few days of relatively mild terrain as opposed to the Canada section right off the bat.  Anyway, I will check out the tracks and will try to pick a fall day in 2013.  Thanks and good luck with all of your riding.

Let's start planning this thing for 2013!  I am in.  Bike is ready, and body will be healed...

And Forest, are you the TDMBR Forest?

I am waaay slow!  Actually I just don't hop on this thing enough.  That explains my under-preperation and over-excitedness!  Anyway, I am trying this thing SS again.  Here are my not as sexy stats as you guys, but I love my baby and she treats me well....

'10 Fisher Rig
32x18 (32x17 last year, but I would rather spin out than walk that much again!)
Easton Havoc Wheels
Lame aero bars
Other not cool but serviceable goodies.

Also NoBo, and look forward to seeing you all on the trails, both directions!

Thanks Bob for emailing the Wife about me trying again this year!  Just made her mad, but at least it got her thinking.  CC me too so we can catch up (pfaeth@gmx.com).

Also for everyone, if you haven't seen this video yet, Forest did an amazing job, both in the race and in the documentation.  Wish I had his grit... http://teamkaker.com/tour-divide-2010-movie-gear/

Gents and Lady, so good to see so many of you trying again this year!  I am in for sure, well, awaiting wifey approval which will be quite a hurdle (email her to help my cause please!).  Type A personalities are so hard to manage!  Good seeing all of you well, get in touch to keep in touch please.  Congrats to all you finishers and keep working all you fellow DNF'ers.  Preston (the MAN) and my motto last year...There is No Shame...
