1  Forums / Classifieds / Re: FS: Garmin Dakota 20 and RAM mount $100 shipped. on: August 07, 2016, 01:59:18 PM
Depends what you are looking for.   If you need mapping, then this is the best deal.   This one is also best for those looking for one that can run on batteries or someone looking for a GPS that can be used for hiking and biking.  For adventures, you will want a gps that can help you navigate.  This does that.  If you just want one to use as a bike computer for short rides, there are better choices.

The sling was the name of one of Revelate's discontinued products.  Kind of like the Harness, but lighter and with less features. The photo shows it on the seat, but was meant for handlbars.

How about the pocket?   Do you have the connectors?

Give it a try.  The only issue is that the drybag slips in the sling.  I added some velcro, but it eventually came off.  Putting something rubbery, like shoe goo on the inside of the sling would help.

Is the sling set up to use with the pocket or do you have the straps to use the pocket with the sling?
The sling works great as a saddle bag with Brooks saddles.

New price.

Enough detail?   The printing is on the other side.  This is an Aluminum, not steel cog.

I used rite in the rain paper for my cue sheets.  But there are several waterproof printer papers out there.  Can be used to photocopy maps or cue sheets.

I would suggest that you look through the forums regarding water treatment before deciding to filter.  I drank about 5L/day and maybe treated a total of 5L.  Hardly worth lugging around a 1lb filter.  There is only one short section where the water is contaminated, but there is a huge area of NM where there was almost no surface water available.

Tire pump was an old planet bike mtb plastic pump.  shock pump was Topeak microshock.  I used a Steripen and iodine tablets.  Steripen was good but it took too long with a 16oz bottle.  I would bring a 1 l bottle next time.

Yes, Spare links.  Hope hubs.  Knickers were great.  I wore them 24 hours a day for the first week and then a good fraction of the second week.  Not just for rain.  Shoe covers got torn up pretty fast.  Showers pass club shoe covers were not the best choice.  I would bring something though. Toe covers would probably be just as good.
