@AZtrailertrash, they are not all young-uns out there!

This raises a question...is there any statistics on racer age, finish times, rookie vs. veteran, male vs. female, etc.

It would be kind of cool to see how all the experienced and inexperienced stack up against each other considering age, etc...  Racer classification would be interesting.

Just curious if this kind of thing is out there or even contemplated as this race grows??

Thanks that helps alot in the context of the water resupply discussion!  I appreciate the input, especially since I am trying to plan for doing the TD next year!

Anyway, at least 5 of the 6 SoBo riders that have passed through the Gila have run out of food and/or water well before the end of the new singletrack section above Pinos Altos, so if anyone out there reads this and talks to riders yet to reach this section, strongly advise them to make sure they have ample supplies before tackling this last slow section of the course. In this heat, it's downright dangerous to push for several hours without water!

Hopefully I'm not repeating a question, but I've seen "passed through the Gila" mentioned several times and I don't exactly know what or where that is?  Can somebody enlighten me?

I appreciate it!

Great Race!

I'll announce the winners of the Cordillera Winning Time contest on Monday.

Please don't forget that we have a matching donor for Cordillera V2 sales right now. http://www.bikepacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,2179.msg21823.html#msg21823

I just have to say that the TD is one of the most impressive human spectacles out there! Reroutes, weather, tragedy, controversy... nothing can bring this race down.

Eric

Thanks Eric,

Just ordered both volumes!  I'm preparing myself for 2012! This is an amazing race!
