I know the race is from Denver to Dgo this year... I'm going the other way so my question is on the stretch from Silverton to BV... Guessing it will take me 4 days-ish. Without carrying all the food from Durango or shipping myself a package to Silverton how do you get 20,000 calories without most of it being junk food? Anyone got a list of what they are looking for when loading up for the stretch?

I have a used Oregon 650 that works just fine but I'm looking for a touch 35 instead. Have had it for maybe 6 months or so and only used it for bikepacking.
I do not have the original box and probably can't find the lanyard or instructions. I did buy it new.
If interested I can send pics.
Thanks, --Tom--

I use plain old foldgers or nescafe instant coffee because it's cheaper. Bikepacking I drink it plain in cold water. but when camping and I have a stove or fire I also add in some honey and it tastes just fine to me!

In response to a fella earlier that was using his iphone as his gps... I gave that a whirl on last years Dixie 200 and within 15 minutes from the start I started getting the "this cable is not supported" message so I couldn't charge my phone with my dynamo or cache battery. Within about 5 hours my iphone was close to dead so I switched back to my trusty garmin I had brought just in case. It's also a pain to read the screen in the sun without cranking up the backlight.

I had some serious chaffing issues on day 1 and narrowed it down to my bike shorts rubbing me weird when I hike a bike. I had ridden plenty of miles in the bike shorts (AZT 300) with no issues but hadn't done that much walking in them. Ended up ditching the Pearl Izumi shorts on night 1 and by about mid day on day 2 I could start sitting on my seat again!! My sit bones were sore from not having the pad but I can deal with that...
