1  Forums / Question and Answer / Great Divide Race Information on: September 29, 2019, 05:16:48 PM
I've been following the Great Divide Race for a number of years and am finally planning to do it! My question is there a central place to go to find instructions and requirements. It appears that the information is all over the place. Specifically, I would like to know how you are tracked. It appears that riders in the past used Spot transmitters. There are better tracking systems available now with many of the smart phone apps. How are they used? How about mapping and GPS software? These are only a few of the questions I have. The Great Divide webpage apparently is not used anymore. Thank you! Terry

Steve,

I am going to do it this summer as well, and your timeframe would work I think. Do you still live in Montana?

Several weeks ago I came upon a post concerning Spot use during the GD race. Unfortunately, I can't find it now. Basically, someone noted that they could be rented/leased for the race?Huh? Does anyone know if this is true, and who to contact? Than you!

I'm guessing that I'm not the only one out there that's frustrated with the lack of quality in tire pumps. Not floor pumps, but the one you carry on your bike. I've searched the posts but so far don't se much. Comparatively they are outrageously expensive...and my experience is that a higher cost does not equal better quality. I'm tired of walking to find air and/or calling for help. I would welcome other's comments. Do you have a great RELIABLE pump? I recently discovered a combo pump made by Biking My Way that somehow switches from volume to pressure so you can pump both your shocks and your tires. Most of the reviews seem positive with the exception of some find the gauge unreliable. Reviews are sometimes as reliable as the pumps, so I would like to hear if anyone has experience with this pump...or any that works!
