Hey Folks,  I'm planning on having a go at the Grand Loop route posted by Dave on 5/31/19. If anyone is interested in being out there at the same time,  I am expecting to start September 9th or 10th.    Likely starting at West Water or Fruita and heading CCW. My intention is to cover the course as quickly as possible but with minimal night riding.  I love riding at night and even riding all night on occasion for racing, but I would prefer to see as much of the landscape as possible for this fast tour.  My email is windowace@comcast.net if there are any interested parties. Cheers.

Hey Aaron.  The track on Ride with GPS appears to have an error. It looks like you doubleback around miles 68-90.  What would you estimate your completion time to be for this route?  Assuming a race effort with 4-5 hrs sleep daily?

If we  are putting in requests for Trackleaders, I would love to be able to resize (zoom) both the race flow table and the elevation profile.

I'm dying to fully understand the conditions, and thought processes keeping that many strong riders, nay, adventurers, holding up.

The front four are definitely in interesting territory as well.

Feels like Chris S. is a snowball rolling downhill.

I've not really been a front runner in a BP'ing race but for what it's worth, as long as your not in their way, making decisions for them, or putting them in a position to make hard decisions, I think your fine.  I suppose you could argue that if you're not doing the same for all riders you may be providing an advantage/disadvantage for those you do/don't.  But if you're making that argument, and really mean it, I might find you annoying......and you me.  Full disclosure.  I'm biased because I'd love to see some photos and footage.

I'm guessing no.  He lists feedbags and seat pack under bags, but neither are in the picture.

Sofiane is crushing the miles but it doesn't look like he has really stopped yet.  I'm thinking that's going to bite back.  45 mile lead, but just starting day 3.  I'd be stunned if he can keep that gap.

Keep'em turnin kids!! headbang

I recently referred to the NPS ranger as a semi wild pig.  Done for entertainments sake.  No dis-respect to these folks. I appreciate the work they do and what they help make available to all of us.  I can't understand the position regarding riders north of the rim but whatever.  It ain't  easy one way or the other and this is just.... different.  Anyway, great job to all riders. Thanks Scott, John, Kurt, Max, Neil, Mark and all you other crazies.  My life is richer for you all.  Peace all!!

It will just be part of the legend Marko,  "on my 6th run of the 750, after topping out on the north rim, I was chased off the pavement by some wild national park pigs and had to resort to the north rim singletrack..."

Fanntastic!  I had a real nice and very welcome SW ripper of a tailwind on the pavement North of the rim,and i have nice memory of that buffed drainage as well.  Thanks for the memory bump.  Great job! Enjoy.

I believe the actual events AZT, CTR, TD, etc. (ridden at something more than a touring pace, for 18-20+ hrs a day), are physically detrimental to your health.  However most preparation and training is beneficial.

Does anyone know if there are any food stops on or near the track after Hill City? Food and H20 seem pretty accessible up to that point, but i am not seeing anythings past Hill City.

Thanks
