Sorry for the reminder  to those who already know but reading the low tire pressure stuff sometimes makes me flinch.
Experimentation is great but finding the limit of front tire pressure is serious business. You will find the limit of front tire folding exactly at the moment you wish you were on the other side of it, i.e.. in the air at 30mph looking at a hard landing w/ a slight horizontal drift.
This is one limit you really need to sneak up on.
Careful out there.

Hello,

I  posted  this message a year ago and I finally got it done!

I had a stainless steel axel made for my specialized epic. works great so far.

I think the design will only work on a specialized 12x142. It won't go on my wife's Hi Fi fisher for example.

how many are still out there in need of this?

leave a post.

I'll try and get back w/a photo.

3  Forums / Question and Answer / snow field footware? on: May 04, 2013, 05:26:11 AM
 Hi all,
planning a relatively early Colorado trail mission. Most likely will have some long snowfield crossing at the high spots. has anybody come up with a shoe cover/or gator arrangement that worked well?
in the past I just slowly loose contact w/ my feet and recover/dry out on the other side.
I don't want to do this day after day or inflict it on my daughter who will be with me.
any ideas?

 Hello all,
I'm working on hooking up my beloved BOB trailer to my new 12x142 axle bike (Specialized Epic).

I have a great local machinist and a design for a substitute axle but the price for one is high. If I can get a pool of others together and make a batch of  them the price would come down quickly.
Anybody interested?
A trailer is not optional for my lifestyle. I can't go family bikepacking or carry my chainsaw for trail work without it. I called BOB and they have no plans to make an attachment for these new bikes yet. I think baby strollers and car seats are allot more profitable for them.
Anyone know of other forums I might find other BOBers on?
