Diana: Has Tyson said what he liked best about riding the Divide?

Cjell: I have been checking your blog for the update from the Divide (since you said you were working on it)... you didn't get into trouble in Canada, did you?

Tracy B.: Your blog is great! Love the stories & the descriptions!

Eszter: Love the pictures and the honesty in your blog!

Jarral: Waiting to see what you write about 'catching' Eszter! I also think your blog is very interesting as well. Did you have to pack enough insulin for the entire trip? Are you going to do the Divide again? If so, what would you do differently other than spend less time at places?

Congrats to those who have finished in the last few days!! To those who had to drop out in the last few days, I hope you are recovering! To those still riding, keep on keeping on! :-)

To those who are "spot stalking" - check out the blogs... they are very interesting! Also, if you haven't ordered a Cordillera (I ordered volume 2 & 3 - laughed & cried throughout!), you REALLY need to consider doing so!

I finished my ITT last night at 8:17 pm! I lost my spot in Grants, so I finished up without tracker. Time for some much needed R and R.
Congratulations, Blake! Woo-hoo!!

Loved catching up the call-ins and blog entries...

I have a question for all who have ridden... it seems as if most people end up singing/talking in "bear" country - my question is this - is it just contained in bear country, or does it seem to carry through the rest of the race as well?

T-Race: Playing catch-up from the last few days... Congratulations!! How did Jay like being on the "spot stalker" side? You sounded great on the call! :-)

To everyone who has finished in the last few days, GREAT JOB!!!! Even you had to "finish" at a different spot than the regular finish line (or start line for the ones heading from the south to the north)!!

The two volumes of the Cordella that I purchased are now making the rounds at work... if I don't get them back, I will purchase two more! The information, emotion, and "views" are extremely interesting. If you have not purchased one, you may want to - even if you're just "spot stalking" someone else!

To anyone who has a blog/personal site - THANK YOU!!! In addition to the "spot stalking", I am going to the different places to read the rider's side first-hand. It is much appreciated!

I spent a couple of weeks riding with Marco in Italy just prior to TD.  I know first hand from our discussions that he made their intentions clear to the organisers, and there was no issue with them riding together as long as they had seperate gear and didn't draft.

I also know first hand that Marco couldn't navigate his way out of a paperbag so I doubt he added much for route planning.  He had some serious issues with knowing his left from right.
This was wonderful!! :-)

No, no... the OTHER left!! :-)

Well said....

Riding alone is a natural and unnatural part of the TDR.

For me most of my actual riding was alone but occasionally I would pass or be passed by others.

In one rare event someone passed me then wrote a message in the snow on a mountain pass....

After reading the message I gave it one more push and passed them back but never found any good snow to leave a return message.  I never actually got to ride with this person but it was fun to know they were out there.

TDR is a great event with true racing that rewards toughness as well as speed.  It's also an event where you are alone and the only real challenge is your mind and your own body.  It's a special kind of event that is so far beyond the scope of "normal" that really the only person who should judge your effort is yourself.

Even though I did not complete TDR this year I am happy with my ride.  I also enjoyed watching and rooting for TheArtist and others who took their efforts all the way to the finish line.
And we all very much enjoyed "watching" you during your ride!! My computer has been down the last couple of days, so I missed most of this "discussion"...

My two cents would be 1) I didn't know about this until my co-worker decided he was doing it, 2) ANYONE who starts this thing is amazingly crazy & courageous, 3) those of us NOT doing this are in awe of those of you DOING it, & 4) EVERYONE who has ever started this particular journey (whether completed or not) is very impressive.

Thank you to all who put this together, let us "spot stalk", and "view" the race through the pictures!

Congratulations to all who finished today!! I have to tell you, being an addicted blue spot stalker wasn't easy today when I couldn't get on to "check" on everyone!!! Whew... hope everyone is doing ok! Ryan's Mom - thanks for the updates! Hope he's doing ok!

It was mentioned that I should change my name (Denis) since I've been "rooting for everyone", so... :-) There are times when I actually follow suggestions... (not too often, though!)

Congratulations to those who have finished in the last couple of days. Seriously do not know how you did it (as Momma Nature is kicking my rear here in Kansas City with 100+ degree weather & I haven't even been on a bike out in it!!!) - you are all amazing!!

To everyone who calls in - Thank you!! You give those of us who are 'spot stalking' just another touch of the emotional journey. Very much appreciated!!!

Tracy Burge: Looks like you've found a riding partner (Jim Stansbury) (from the phone in). Be safe & keep the conversations going (from her blog)!! Jim: If Tracy starts arguing with herself instead of just conversing with herself, you may want to interrupt her to get her back on track... :-)

Eric F., Craig, Eszter, Cjell, this year's other finishers that I missed, and other previous year's riders: Thanks for informing those of us 'spot stalkers' and giving information for anyone deciding to ride in the future. While I am not counted among those who will ride, I enjoy reading the posts & appreciate the fact that you all are willing to share information!!

Eszter: Keep singing!!

Cjell: Not sure how you've kept your mom from knowing about 420 for so long - especially with your blog!! Can't wait to see what you post regarding this ride!

Again, everyone who has a part in this 'ride' is amazing!! Thank you!!!

HUGE congrats to Katherine!  No, I take that back.  HUGE congrats to everyone!
So, Eszter, in regards to your final call-in... What are you going to change next year when you do it again? :-)

Congrats to Ryan. Great race, and another amazing accomplishment to your already awesome list of accomplishments!

@RootingforGary: how about changing your nick to RootingforEverybody...  icon_biggrin  thumbsup

(That, or every racer could change their name to Gary)
LOL, Denis! I got addicted when Gary was racing. He's back home now, but I'm still addicted!! :-)
