Answered my own question.... Incase it helps someone else I found the official 2015 Tour Divide Official GPS vs the 'old GPS' track and opened them in Garmin Basecamp to compare the detours.

Threw me off when the I was studying ACA maps and found references to places like Wamsutter which threw me for a loop haha!

Curious - Where do I find this addendum? Both that GPS track and my version of the ACA Map shows it goes through Rawlins. But you have to be right since I find trip reports with Wamsutter in it. Where do I get this route change info?

Thanks in advance!!!

The route no longer goes through Rawlins it goes to Wamsutter. So you'll have to rework that section.

I'm running 29" Conti Raceking 2.2 Racesport. Been training on these and found they do pretty good all around. Except sticky mud, I cant seem to find any around here to test in Smiley

It's getting real now - Booked a bed at the YWCA, booked the shuttle from Calgary and my flight. Arriving the Wednesday before grand depart.

Anyone have the major drought resupply points?  I am thinking there's about 4 or 5 sections of little to no water, what are they? What town must you restock and camel water before safely proceeding?

Thanks!

Hi All,

Is anyone planning to use a Garmin Edge 1000 Explorer (or another Edge) as his/her main GPS? Any thoughts on using an Edge vs. an eTrex (which looks like the popular option)?

Thanks,
Segundo

I have and Edge device but the battery won't last long enough I don't think. Not without a generator hub that I don't want to bother with the added complexity. I am going to use my GPSMap 64s as it runs on AA that I can swap out. Doesn't look much different than eTrex. I already have the GPSMap device so I won't bother buying an eTrex.

Sooooo I've read a ton of equipment lists from divide racers and they all seem to missing one thing.

What are people doing for TP? Do you somehow time it to be near civilization conveniently or is it more like a 1 sock run?!

TP = Toilet Paper.

I have to ask.....  BangHead

Are there any other fathletes riding this year? This year Im currently 6'2" 400+ but who knows what Ill be by race day. I rode in 2014 but got completely numb feet and had to pull out due to all the cold and rain/snow and the wrong size shoes. I even had a run in with two bears. I know no one pays much notice to semi non-competetors but I would like to acknowledge and encourage a class and connection between the big men and women out there willing to punish their bodies and minds. I'd also like to compare notes, and see what the Grande riders do differently than the average sizers ;-) I would like to try to cook and eat more pasta along the ride. Im using a bivy, a rigid all steal fargo 3, a dyno hub, and GPS. I will also try to sleep out the entire route and avoid hotels, not for the advantage/disadvantage but for the personal challenge. I am an eagle scout and have "camped" all over the world so hotels, IMO, can take a lot of the fun/challenge out of the experience. I want to be clear though, I am not touring the route, I intend to keep up a race pace and mindset for my physique. Any and all suggestions, opinions, criticisms, and prayers are welcome.  headbang
