We are in banff getting ready to head south for a couple of months. Anybody know the best place to find out if there is a glimmer of hope of following the trail south from here?

We were planning on starting in banff on July 7th headed south, any news if the route is passable to elkford?  I know the goat creek trail is closed.

My son and I are doing the tour divide this summer as well. I'm 45 and my son will be 18. We are planning on driving up to banff from Seattle on July 5 and starting on the 7th or 8th. We are looking to finish by aug 30th. Other than that we are planning on having one hell of a great time. I figure we would let our bodies determine our pace. I figure we would average between 50-70 miles a day as well. Our 2 main goals are to have a great time and finish. I think it would be great to ride in a group of it all works out. I've got the time off work, drop off and pickup all set. Thoughts?
