If you are riding a single speed you better bring a few extra links of chain. If you break it ,you can't shorten it.

Pushing your bike up the next section makes you glad you have a light weight hard tail. Foose's creek is a sum bitch.

I had a company out of texas make me a light with 3 led's and 3 settings that used 8 AA's. I used the light for 3 nights before I pulled out and never had to change batteries. The bright setting ,I believe, is 750 lumens and it was confidence inspiring at night on the downhills with a nice wide pattern and great middle spot light. The low setting was perfect for pushing your bike. www.trailled.com

I feel like I didn't truly leave it all out there last year. I learned so much about myself, the challenges of the route and my gear that I feel I have a much better chance this year and lets face it I am not getting any younger. The race is a life changing challenge. I think about it all the time, I can't even go on a easy bike ride without thinking about how it pertains to the race. I highly recommend you commit to it and make it a focus for the year.Remember how long you put off the "Don ride"? How old will you be when you commit to the ctr?It is worth the effort.

I feel for you. But if you can wait his stuff is really good.I just did a weekend out with his handlebar bag and it worked flawlessly. Perfect size and the little strechy pocket on the front was perfect for my camera.Hang in there.

I just bought the super mica and I am pleased with the purchase. I just got to use it in the rain the other day and like it much more than my old precip jacket. It packs down awesome and breaths slightly better then the precip. I was really looking for the event fabric in a jacket but all the jackets I found were pretty heavy or had no pit zips. If  you don' t care about pit zips then checkout the RAB line of rain jackets with event fabric.

I was in the same boat(man) until yesterday. I had a handle bar bag on order for 12 weeks and finally got it . He said 8 weeks and no replies to e-mail. I ripped open the package and put it on the bike and went for a ride. I have to say it was worth the wait. It fit great and was the perfect size. The craftsmanship is awesome. The limbo in communication was a real bummer if he could get that sorted out the sky is the limit for his business.
I also have a epic seat bag and I had no problems with it or the delivery date or communication.I would recommend epic, or what ever the new name is.

15  Forums / Question and Answer / Re: Osprey Manta vs. Talon Series - which would you buy? on: April 07, 2010, 08:57:06 AM
I just bought the new manta 20 and IMO it is awesome. The stability of the pack is unmatched compared to other packs I have owned, many camel back packs and last years dakine amp 18. The organization and bladder are well thought out,my only complaint was the magnet that holds the bite valve was not strong enough for single track use. I will probably be figuring out a way to change that set up.
