I rode it last week and trail conditions were good after 3 days of rain in the area.  The usual sand areas were improved by the wet weather.  It did warm up during an afternoon climb from Dewey Bridge.  I went through about 2 gallons of water each day over the 3 day trip.

I have both bags.  The straps do overlap.  My solution was to cut part of the Velcro on the Tangle bag where they overlap.  The top piece of Velcro is fairly long and my change hasn't had any impact of the stability of the bag.
