Im looking for Ergonomic grips with bar ends. I have the Ergon GC3 and don't particularly like them. I think I remember Mathew Lee riding with a pair on this years tour divide. Anyone know what I'm talking about. Thanks

Hey do not like the actual bar ends or the ergon grips?  I know they have several different types. I use the Gc2 on my single speed and they work great.  I have the Gc3 on my full geared bike I am using for the Tour and really like all the different hand positions I can use.  It definitely takes time to get them set up right for you so they are not creating more pressure spots.

I rode with GX1 grips last year, with regular old Specialized bar ends--and they worked OK (absolutely no numb fingers on the CTR). But this year I bought a pair of Ergon GX3 grips--and they are nicer. I like the GX series because they provide support without restricting control on technical trails too much.

I've been trying some GX2's, finding the rubber "wing" actually hurts my hand if I'm not careful. Thinking about trying the new GS version when they appear, they're supposed to be a softer rubber.

I used the GX3 last year on CTR....but will not on 2011.  Wrong grip for the wrong application.  It is a grip designed for XC racing....so 'racing' on the GX3 for 3 days was no bueno in the long run.  For 2011 I will either go the route of the GR2 or the GS2.  GS2 looks very promising.  Been 'testing' the GS2 for about 1.5 months now and offers everything the GX models do...but with the addition of a softer wing and available in 2 sizes.

I was hoping to solicit some feedback from you Jeff, any idea when the GS2's might appear retail? Otherwise I'm going to try the GR2, are the barends interchangable? So I can use my carbons from my GX2 on the cheap composite GR2?

Thanks

GS models will be available in early April.

GR2 would be another good option.  Same barend as pictured above....just use of more 'comfort' oriented grip.

Barends are not interchangeable.

GS models seem to be available in two sizes, small and large. How do these compare to my current GX2's size wise? Small the same size as the current GX?

Thanks

Jeff,

What exactly is the difference between the GS2 and the GR2? What's the weight of the GS2?

Thanks much,
