Thank you. It turned out better than I had ever dreamed. I have a rigid fork on my Salsa Fargo and for the type of riding I like to do, I prefer suspension up front. I'll replace this current fork with a newer Fox later this fall. I just had Push rebuild my current fork so I really like how it rides. I find that when I ride rigid when I start getting tired and borderline sloppy, that rigid fork is unforgiving.

I would say that the ultimate bikepacking bike is a Ti one.

I've gotten there over time, but now have what I consider to be the ultimate setup. The thing is, your ultimate setup depends on the kind of adventure. Singletrack? Doubletrack? Tour Divide? CTR? Rowdy?

Bike: I choose between a Trek Superfly SL Full Suspension or a Kona Raijin (Lynskey) Ti 29er. Hardtail has sliding dropouts for making an SS. I can choose the FS bike for more rowdy trail or take the HT if it's smoother.

Components: Both are identical. XX1 with XTR brakes. SID forks on both. Rear on both is a Nox Carbon wheel with I9 hub, Front is a China Carbon with SON28 Dyno front hub (can swap front wheel back and forth)

Bags: Frame bags on both. Revelate on Kona, Rogue Panda for Superfly. Viscacha Seat Bag, Feed Bags, front sling with dry bag, Top tube bags, etc

Shelter: Hammock or Big Agnes Fly Creek UL1 or SOL Escape Bivy or nothing, depending on adventure

It's "horses for courses" vs just one perfect setup
