Anyone wearing/worn Sidi Spiders?

I've worn Sidi Dominators for 10 years but only do short hike a bike sections around here. However, in preparation for the TD I'm looking at shoes that would be optimum.  The x-alps look good but having used sidi's in the past, I was looking for some input on these shoes.  One concern was tread wear but I was planning on replacing treads half way through.  Anyone using them?

I picked up a used pair off of ebay with nary a scratch on the sole.  The provided Spider sole disintegrated after riding one day near Tucson (SSAZ2010 in Feb).  I replaced them with Dragon soles and they've held up better but the forefoot pieces are needing replacement again.  I ride in rocky southern AZ with a fair amount of hike-a-bike (they're pretty good for the HAB).
If the fit were anything other than ideal I'd likely shelve them in favor of something more durable/cheaper.  As it is I'm not sure if I'll opt for another set of Dragon soles or find some closeout specials on a new pair of shoes.
