I'm planning on bikepacking the Great Divide next summer. I have a SON dynamo, but I'm not sure what electronics to use. I currently have The Plug (the first version) from Tout Terrain as a USB port, but it's no good for charging the iPhone. What would you recommend? And what cache battery?
I also want to run a light. I know about dynamo lights for road use (they are terrific), and for road use, the Luxos is dandy. Would that work for trails too, if supplemented with a headlight, or should I look elsewhere? I'm not planning on much night riding, but I might want to push to get somewhere in the evening, or ride at night to beat the daytime heat.
What would be a good GPS to get? I just want something basic, that I can load the route into, and it will show me if I get off track. Garmin Edge Touring?
Thanks in advance for all your advice.
(The spell checker is helpfully telling me that "bikepacking" is not a word. Ummm....)
