tubeless tire patch kits

Anybody out there ever tried (by necessity) a tubeless tire patch kit such as the velox (which includes needle and thread) and have success with it? I'm thinking about slicing an old tire (both sidewall and tread surface) and seeing how quickly a repair could proceed and if I can get 200 or so miles out of it upon completion. The end goal is, well, not to have to carry 600g of spare tire.

Yes, with moderate success.
The velox kit with needle and thread is for tubulars, not tubeless, big difference.
I have patched tubeless tires with regular Rema patches a couple of times. Just do it like it's a tube.
If the cut is big the patch will stretch and leak.
Whatever you do don't try to sew up the hole. if patches don't take just boot it and use a tube.
Cheers
