I'm looking for n+1 to be a 27.5+ flat bar hard tail for adventures a little too technical to take the cross bike. I'm also moving to VT, where I expect to be fat biking all winter. Do you guys have any suggestions for a bike that can do both? I'm pretty light (145lbs) so I don't think I need enormous fat tires for snow, but I'm no expert in the field. Does the geometry get totally ruined by accepting both sizes?

TL;DR: looking for a fun bike that can fit 27.5+, snowy fat tires, and is bikepacking capable.

Any frame that will take 26" fatires should take 27.5+ with no change in geometry cuz the OD is the same, 29"s. If you go the fat bike route u'll need to build the 27.5 wheels on hubs that will fit the wider fat bike.
If you have a 29er with good clearance, you could try the B+ on more standard wheels & it might get U thur winter. Not so good in fresh powder, but even fat bikes don't like that stuff.

Have you looked at Tumbleweed?: http://www.tumbleweed.cc/bikes/

I did a trip this summer with a guy who had one of the early production models.  He was happy with it and I liked what I saw.  Lots of versatility, low q-factor, etc.
