anyone know the real difference between the North Face Cat's Meow & the North Face Bighorn sleeping bags? I've read all the reviews, they both seem to be 20 degree bags & pack down the same size, etc so i'm curious about the main differences, perhaps the Bighorn is cut a little larger, I'm a Clydesdale so looking for something with some room on a budget & they both seem in my range, Cat's Meow is a little more $$$ but not much more.

Well, about 1 1/4 lb difference. Cats Meow is the lighter. Bighorn is wider.
Different shell and fill materials.
Cats Meow is made a little better with draft tube/baffle around the neck.

to check out all the details for each bag.
Here is a link to their basic comparison chart for bags:

The Cat's Meow uses a lighter synthetic insulation so it'll weigh less and pack down smaller. You pay your money you take your choice.
You could save money and weight by buying a bag that's not rated to quite that cold and taking along an insulated top of some kind. I use a down vest with a zero degree bag and it keeps my toasty down to about minus 5 degrees Celsius. Having said that Nebraska can be rather chilly at times!
