Hello All,
I'm new to this forum so please forgive me if you have answered this question. I recently purchased a 2017 Salsa Cutthroat Force X1 and would like to buy a SON dynamo. The Cutthroat has SRAM Rail 40, 29", 15x100mm wheels with 24 spokes. Im not familiar with dynamos but I hear SON is the way to go. I just don't know if SON has a model for my wheel. If any of you have done this or can recommend a model it will be appreciated.. Thanks a bunch..

SP also known as Shutter Precision, makes a 15 x 100 dynamo. Relatively inexpensive and gets decent reviews. I don't know if they make one with 24 holes as that's not a common touring spoke count.

I'd like to piggyback off this post...
I'm planning on using the SON 28 15 Disc hub on my Cutthroat (32 spoke).
Are there going to be any compatibility issues with SRAM Rival HRD brakes? It seems that those come with centerline rotors whereas the SON 28 15 is only compatible with ISO 6 bolt.
Thanks in advance. I'm pretty ignorant about these new-fangled disc brakes.

you can use a 6bolt disc and your caliper will never know the difference. you can also buy a piece that converts your current disc to work with 6 bolt.

Does anyone know if the reliability issues with the first generation thru-axle SP hubs have been sorted in later models?

I had a SP 15mm-100 thru axle for my first TD ride back in 2016. A couple of days before I was to leave, I was working with the front wheel and found that it had side to side slop in it which caused a lot of concern. I rode it anyway with no ill affect. It was replaced under warranty and I was advised that it was a known issue. The new one that I received was an updated design and works very well.
FWIW. I opted to no longer use the dynamo and now carry a 15,000 Anker battery bank which has enough juice to recharge my electronics very reliably. I can easily go 3 days between having to top it off. For my headlight I have one that uses 18650 batteries and can get 8 hours of light out of each battery.
