Hey there guys,
I was reading some of topics on this forum and i think you are the right people to ask- a lot of bike-people enthusiasts Cheesy

It's a jacket for legs meant to protect the user against rain. It's easy to use, just like any jacket, but for legs instead of upper body. We made a landing page and a short video to prove the point.

Since people like you guys are some of our future users we would really like some feedback from you for the product we developed.
What is your general opinion on the product? Would you find it useful?
What would you improve?
Would you use such a product? If not, who would you recommend it to?
Cheesy Cheesy
I know that this is my first post here, but we really appreciate your feedback; it will help us a LOT in succesfuly re-launching our product. (yeah, we kind of failed the first time)
Thanks

IMHO. Rain gear for cyclists tends to have different parameters than for other activities although running is similar.

The knee area is one place that comes to mind. Cyclists bend their knees more that runners, so things can get tight there. The seat is also a critical area because we are seated a lot. Breatheability is also a major factor. With a simple base layer and a wind breaker, I can be drenched from sweating in no time. It is assured that if I am riding in the rain with rain gear on, I will get drenched on the inside.

My choice is this...
http://www.bikepacking.net/forum/diy-make-your-own-gear-(myog)/disposable-cheap-rain-gear/

I have a pattern and can sew a set up in about 20 minutes. The material is cheap, lightweight and waterproof. If I want to splurge a bit, I can get a breathable fabric. The knees have pleats on the side that allow extra fabric on the front so that on pedal upstrokes, the fabric doesn't pull up on the front.

Checked out your webpage.

2 minute feedback with minimal knowledge of your product. All totally neutral  and meant to friendly advice. Its not necessary to answer the questions in response.

- Strange name for a product.
- Decent website
- Well done budget video
- Very minimal information on the actual product.

Questions:

- It's rain pants but what makes them so special?
- Why is it an improvement over existing products?
- What materials are you making them from?
- Sizing?
- What features make them suitable for the bikepacking crowd?
- How do you deal with the full length zipper keeping water out of the pants?
- Are there drawstrings at the bottom of the pant to prevent the pants from getting sucked into the drivetrain of a bike?
- All the video mentions is a rear pocket for storage. What other pockets are there?
- And lastly, cost...

First blush after watching the vid:

A full side-zip rain pant is what your product is. As such, it needs a two-way zipper you can open up at the top for ventilation. It doesn't look like your product does that, and that's a deal breaker for cycle touring applications IMO. Some might be okay with emergency storm gear being as light as possible. I want to be able to ventilate them well so I don't have to continually put on and remove during intermittent poor weather. I'll end up wet from sweating without that ventilation – an uncomfortable scenario, esp when the the weather is foul.

The shoe cover looks to add warmth, but will not be wholly effective for rain and water/mud splashing off the ground or being walked through.

The material looks lightweight and compressible. Does it have any stretch to it?

The product appears to be suited to commuting, and for that application, it probably works satisfactorily.

Uhh...isn't that just referred to as "pants?"

Seems kind of like referring to "socks" as "foot hats."

Gnomenclature aside, I don't see any technical information (nor any particularly distinctive info at all) that would sell me on this product over a bunch of other rain pants already available.

@bakerjw thanks for the feedback!
That DYI thing looks interesting, but we are targeting people that prefer already made products. But that could be a start for you if you are planning on selling in the future.

@Sparkyga
1&2. Well, we tried to combine several feature into one product (reflective, all way zippers, packable, good quality etc.)
3. We use a regular 5000mm waterproof fabric and a 20.000 waterproof fabric from Sympatex.
4. We have it covered. 3 sizes for each gender with 3 inseam versions for each.
5. They are light and packable.
6. the side zippers are covered
7. they don't have downstrings but they are slim, since one can take it using the the zippers, without the need to put the foot through
8. we have 2 front pockets as well
9. starting at 89USD for the standard and 129USD for Sympatex inclusing world wide shipping, now on Kickstarter

@offroute
The fabric is also breathable, and easier to use with one way zippers only
the shoe cover is only for when you use the bicycle, mostly in urban areas
The material is a bit stretchy, yes. The Sympatex one more than the other.

@Smithhammer by popular demand we were also advised to produce: hats for tits, pants for arms and socks for cocks. It may be a good start...

All in all, guys, thanks for your feedback icon_biggrin (and for trolling us thumbsup) but we are preparing to launch our Kickstarter campaign soon and we would really appreciate if you could take a look first.

hmm, same product I've been using for years now.
What I do see on this design, the legs are cut way tight, wont work well with suits and jeans. The rain flap on the side zippers is way to small, this will leak on most occasion.
Also, ad velcro straps at the lower part of the legs, to get a tighter fit. And put a pair of hooks to attach the legs to your shoes.

There are a lot of alternatives in this market for this type of product. Some are a lot cheaper, with the same features. And some a bit more expensive, witch are lighter and more durable.

cheers

Bas
