Frame Bag Paint Rubbing

Has anyone else had trouble with their frame bag damaging the paint on their bike?  I've been doing some training rides with mine and took it off to do some cleaning and found that it's left some yucky rub marks on the top of the down tube.  Anyone have any tricks for preventing this?  I'm a little shocked at how bad it looks after not very long.

Yep, I've had the same problem.  That's one reason why I went with silver for my latest frame...when the silver rubs off its just not as noticeable.  The real solution is to ONLY bikepack and never take the bags off!

3m clear bra..it's the stuff they put on the front of cars to stop stone chips. Go to your nearest window tinting place and they should have some off-cuts they can give you or sell you. Cut it into the desired shapes/sizes and stick to your cleaned frame where the bags make contact.

Or by an anodized frame.

I hear you, man...my frame bag / straps polish my Ti to a not so lustrous shine ...they  really nailed the gel-coat on my old Diamond back c-fiber WCF... looks like someone took a brillo pad to it where the straps were...

Thanks all.  kind of wish i had known about this beforehand... oh well, still glad to have my sweet frame bag :-) 

How about the clear chain-stay/frame protector stickers?  are they durable enough to prevent any worse damage?

A previous frame I had came with a clear chainstay protector.  It was definitely insufficient.  I'm now using electrical splicing tape and its working fine, but there are loads of ghetto options.
