Frame chafe

Thanks for the add to the forum- total newb at bike packing so have a lot of questions. I tried searching the forum but no luck.

I see a lot of frames for sale where the seller mentions chafing or rubs from the frame bag. What is best to use or apply to the frame to prevent this?

Replace all the tubes with titanium to avoid this. Alternatively, use electrical tape as an interim thing, or helitape for a more permanent solution. That said, I’ve had electrical tape on a set of forks for 3 years or so.

You may not appreciate it (yet), but frame chafe is a badge of honour among bikepackers. 😜

I don't always use my carbon frame FS bike for bikepacking, but when I do blue painter's tape is a great no-residue barrier from frame chafing.
