new here and just saying hi

i am in my 50's, stay fit at the gym, flyfish,row,bike........outside business development rep for a manufacture in real world, work life.

not a expert at anything biking.......just always liked it.

started mountain biking about 1993 when things were a lot more simple......bike wise.

putz around a bit with my own bike maintenance, set up, yet,,,,,,,support my local brick and motor bicycle shop with all i can........and just buy the brand bikes they have.

don't do any over night bike camping anymore.....at least not recently and am more likely to seek a cabin these days.......but,  i love riding forest service/fire roads for the day......exploring some single track here and there.....maybe making a camp fire.......bike/fishing,etc..........flip side i will just ride over to a coffee/book shop or what ever as well

guess if i were to sub-catogorize my niche it would be something like - mountain bike touring/day triping/exploring

little bit old school in that i am use to skinny mtb tires from the day.....so i like 1.75" is to maybe 2"..........i did swap up a couple years ago finally for the 29" wheels from 26" and i use a touring trip gears these days...............still.........as always a rear rack with a good ol dry bag strapped down and a saddle bag for tools, frame pump and bottle's, etc...........bar ends....ridgid...you get the picture Wink...........i did just order a couple of revalate designs mountain feedbags ,,,,,,they look slick.

nothing fancy bike/component wise anymore............just durable,replaceable basics.

anyways........just wanted to say hi............enjoy the outdoors........i appreciate the reviews i have read here.....i may have a few questions now and then.

take care
bill

Thanks for checking in, bill. Keep rocking the old skool gear and whatever works for you.

For something different, maybe acquire a couple of light bivy pieces and bust out a weekender. Your 29" wheels are itching to go...
