How do those who finished the CTR  do it?  My car will be in the Denver area.  Thanks for the insight!

My wife picked me up last year. Depending on whether I finish, and when, I may have an extra seat available this year (showering beforehand will be required Smiley ).

Greyhound is another option.

Rental car is not a bad option.

I just started looking at this,

What I think I will do is drive to Denver, leave my car at the airport (or relatively close).

Book a flight on the latest flight I think I will need from Durango to Denver (currently only $157 on frontier).

If I get to Durango sooner, then I will try and fly standby.

Hopefully, there is a place (bike shop?) where I can leave my bike until I drive back through and grab it on the way back to UT.

Considerably more driving than I would want to do, but I don't see another (self-sufficient) way to do it Cheesy

My rough plan for this year is to leave my truck with nothing in it, parked somewhere safe, possibly a nice hotel. I intend to pay them for the parking, then ride my bike to the trailhead. To get back, my parents will hopefully be there to give me a ride but who knows(I think i will have support issues with them). If anyone has room for a biker on the way back, let me know. Yes i will shower and brush my teeth if i have too!

Thanks for all the help everyone.  As it turns out, my wife decided she is willing to brave the long drive back to Austin with our kid.  Luckily, my mom-in-law said she'd love to fly out to Denver, hand out a few days and then drive back with the wife.  I have a ride from Durango back to Austin.  All's well.

Back to obssessing over gear.  It's so much fun, yet so expensive.
