New Nashbar front rack, Dakine goggle cases and J & D (Jandd) pannier hardware. Lucked out finding some brackets in the garage. Didn't need to drill or cut. They were a perfect fit. I'll be doing the same setup on the front.

This setup is super-sturdy and passed the drop test. Rode some rough terrain with no problems. They won't be popping off. Now I gotta save up for some gear.

Once the bungee breaks in, I'll adjust and cut the excess.

Everything (including s/h, tax) cost about $65.

That's a great job. What are the demensions of the cases?
You have really expanded the area on top of your rack for any light bulk iteams as well. Nice.

Thanks. They are 8" x 4" x 4". Perfect for the small rack. More of a platform indeed. So I'll have this setup on the front, sleeping bag, pad, and bivy or tarp strapped to the top of the racks. Then plan to make a frame bag.

I'll get a backpack to carry the light, bulky stuff. May seem like a lot, but it's not. May not need a 'full frame' size bag. I've owned a J & D frame bag before. It worked very well.
