Thudbuster for Fargo - short or long travel?

What experience is out there with thudbusters on Fargos?
Feedback on travel length is what I really need, pretty much decided I will get one, just need to decide on travel.
Thinking the shorty will be perfect. Fargo has -8 degree stem, dumped, profile aero bars, large frame, I'm 77kg.
Run a rack most of the, time, so a seatbag (ie viscacha) is not really important to consider at this stage (but a quick search confirmed they can work)

I have the Thudbuster on my Fargo that came with the standard build & love it! Didn't at first as to me it seemed like I always had a rear tire going flat/low but once I got used to it I think it will be permanent, really seems to save my lower back on the long rides. I also have 2 different seat bags that I use with it & they are standard build bags, nothing custom was neccessary to change the way the bags fit in conjunction with the seat post.

I rode the CDT last year with a st thudbuster on mine. I'd say it was a great decision. I think the lt would move too much. The st seams to do its job without being noticed. That's a nice trait. I mounted a Visachsa on my wife's bike with the st post and it's fine. Enjoy. Harry

I have tried many suss seatposts, including both ST and LT Thudbusters. Recommend the USE shockpost in aluminum with the Sumo type head. You can't get enough travel out of any suss post for true rear suspension of rider weight without undesirable consequences for power/efficiency. All are merely "taking the edge off" to improve endurance and comfort, but quite effective in that mission. The USE's accomplish that with less weight/bulk and good reliability. Buy direct from UK mailorder sites for sub $100 USD cost.
