GPX track question
«

I'm preparing for the Tuscany Trail race and I wanted to know if there is a way to measure the distance between towns, for resupplying. I'm using Basecamp;I think Topofusion is better but I have a mac and it doesn't work on it. Any advice would greatly appreciated!
Happy Easter!

There's got to be a way to cut the track into pieces and then a way to see the profile and mileage for each smaller piece. If not then Topofusion is definitely better. In TF I just click on the scissors icon and then click to cut the track at each town, this has to be done before you split the track up for loading the gps, then back to the pan map (hand tool in TF) you right click on each segment between towns to bring up the profile and mileage. BC must have some version of these tools. In TF once I finish this part of the planning I'll close the program, or just unload the one track I am working on, then when TF ask do you want to save changes say no. Track goes back to original state.
Hope that helps.

You can duplicate the track several times - once for each segment. Then get properties and you can delete segments before and after the section you want to keep. Just shift or command click the I individual points.
I also think IIRC that of you open the route to view the elevation you can pick 2 points and it will tell you distance and climbing between each point you pick.

Hey guys thanks for tips, sorry its taken me so long to reply back.I've been caught up in my own preparations and things. I didn't really find a way that allows me to figure out exact mileage but by clicking on the track ( in Basecamp) I can get to the profile and kind of figure it out.
Thanks!

Cool! I'll have to play with it later.
Thanks!
