I ride a SalsaFargo and have had a Salsa El Mariachi. The Fargo is bulletproof and versatile and the El Mariachi is fun on Singletrack. I would rather ride the El Mariachi on Singletrack or tour with the Fargo. But that is from an east coast perspective. I took my Fargo on the Divide route and couldn't have made a better choice. Especially for the money. The newer ones are suspension corrected, that might make a difference. Both are great bikes and reasonable. Hope that helps, Harry
