Where/how do you guys attach your rear blinky lights?
There is a strap on my Talon that is designed for it, but it sags way too much and the light just points at the ground. I had a dynamo powered light on my bike, but that attached to the rack, and I am removing that in favor of a Mr Fusion 2.
The seat bag also takes up the valuable seat post space where many rear lights are designed to sit, so I'm a bit at a loss here.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Good idea! I just need to make sure that whatever light I get can bend that far down.
The Planet Bike Superflash I have has to be mounted upside down to bend that far, which means the retention clip isn't as secure (or is more secure, depending on how you think about it), but replacing the batteries, or removing the light then requires loosening the mount, instead of just unclipping it. It looks like you've done the same thing. I guess it isn't that big of a deal if you have a light with a long enough battery life.

I have used many PB superflash lights. All secure. And I have never had an issue rotating enough to get them to release.

Here's mine on a SF100 (the red arrow is pointing to it) - of course this may not work on a HT. It looks close to the rear wheel but there is actually heaps of clearance even at full compression, visibility from behind is clear, and access is easy.

On my Fargo, I attached my PB superflash to the rack boss on the non-driveside seat stay, and zip tied it to the mount. I've had no issues with it for thousands of miles.

I forgot about the zip tie trick. I just got a new PB Superflash, and I will do the same. Well at least for attaching it to the mount. I'll probably attach the mount a bit lower on the seat stays to keep it away from all the muck near the tire. Thanks for all the tips. |
