Do you hang it from a tree?  What if no trees (like in Arizona)?  Leave on bike in Zip lock bags?

In the east I hang from a tree. I just got an Ursack, so I'll be trying that out this season - likely hanging that when I can.

Are you using just the sack, or the sack with the liner bag and aluminum support ring?

The last two seem a bit bulky for riding with..

100% depends on where I am. Context is key.

Just the sack and the Opsack bag or freezer bags. Works well so far, but I've only used it once on the bike, once on an overnight backpack.

I have been using an Ursack for a couple of years. I hang it when I can; otherwise, I just tie it off to something solid away from my shelter. Great and lightweight option for keeping all kinds of critters out of your food, and they pack really well in backpacks and panniers.

I always hang a bag and employ the camp/cook/sleep 100 yards away in a triangle which is what they teach before they let you backpack in Denali. I have only backpacked in treeless areas and there I had a bearproof container which was a bit bulky for the bike. I don't really have a good answer to places without trees beyond odor proofing and stashing far from camp. I would not keep it attached to the bike. If a bear does encounter it, they may cause some damage trying to get into the bag.

Got an Ursack Minor (critter proof, not bear proof) for use in MA/VT and plan to tie it to something when I'm in a campground (possibly with odor bag) and hang in a tree with the odor bag when roughing it.

If it holds or has held food, hang it from a tree.

Way back when our scout troop went to Philmont, a guy in the troop spilled some kool aid on an air mattress that he used with a hammock. In the morning, he woke to find his air mattress chewed up, by his head, and bear footprints all over the ground around where he'd been sleeping.

Even the lightest odor will attract many creatures.
