Klean Kanteen instead of Pot?

I am really annoyed by "kitchen" equipment. I don't like the singular use of a lot of this stuff. I would really love a pot that can be water storage too and have been doing research on boiling/cooking in a Klean Kanteen. Anyone do this? Or does anyone think this is a good idea? Right now I only have a double wall but would buy a single wall if this was a feasible option. When it comes to flavors I'd just use toothpaste with baking soda to clean it (or just carry a small amount of baking soda).

Thoughts?

(I have used a clear Nalgeen as a solar cooker in the past and liked that solution somewhat)

The only thing that occurs to me and which I think has come up in a forum discussion here is whether any of these stainless steel or aluminum drinking bottles have plastic linings in them (like you find in canned goods). Otherwise, I like your thinking. Bikepacking/ultralight backpacking is all about multiple uses for items. FTR, I don’t use toothpaste or baking soda (apparently toothpaste is a very effective bear attractor). Instead I use Dr. Bronner’s which covers all my cleaning needs and requires so little, I bring it in a tiny bottle and use a single drop for brushing teeth.

I use this one. It holds a liter of water if you fill it from the top, works as a stove (lower steel piece only) to cook 24 oz at a time, and u can use the plastic top for coffee cup etc.

If you look at the reviews hikers are using it the same way I am.  Cheap and about 7.5 oz with plastic top. I either carry this with just a little olive oil to light fires and cook in the fire, or I carry a small alcohol/esbit homemade stove with HEET and 3 esbits in case I need food or coffee in a rainstorm.

This actually was another "question" I had  (but was just going to experiment), finding a soap that works for clothes, pots, and body. I think Brommer's is genius for that. Although I don't know about brushing my teeth with it!

Klean Kanteens are great on a stove. I only use mine for boiling water and also carry a pot for cooking food, so I don't know if the flavor sticks around or not.

Klean Kanteens do not use any kind of liner, but I think that most aluminum water bottles do. I know that Sigg bottles do.

Multi use is always nice. But if you are using your Klean Kanteens to store water and cook. Where do you put the water when you need the Klean Kanteens to cook?
I really like the beer can pot/alky stove combo because they weigh next to nothing and the pot can be used as a coffee cup.
In this picture the blue cup and Ti pot is replaced with the beer can pot/coffee mug.


Another good duel purpose kitchen idea is a wood burning stove that can also use an alky stove. The woodstove also is a pot stand and wind screen.

I have a hobo stove that's supposed to be a wood stove too, but haven't really tried, but it makes a great windscreen/pot stand (way better than the one the Trangia came with.

And in terms of water, put it in the bottle that I was drinking from as I rode to my camp spot/drink it.
